Jakarta: Covid-19 Handling Task Force Head Doni Monardo has advised President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to add Bali and Aceh provinces to the central government's priority list.
"We have advised the president to add two more provinces," Doni said here on Monday.
The Indonesian government is currently focusing on flattening the covid-19 infection curve in several provinces with the highest transmission rates.
The provinces are Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, North Sumatra, South Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, and Papua.
The list is based on several considerations, including the number of active cases, the rate of new cases, the death percentage, the death rate, and the characteristics of the region.
"We will encourage all volunteers, academics, and communities throughout those provinces to promote campaign in following health protocols," said Doni.
