Ministry Urged to Reject Results of Democratic Party's Extraordinary Congress

Jakarta: The Central Executive Board of the Democratic Party has urged the Ministry of Law and Human Rights to reject the results of the party's extraordinary congress.
 
Held in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra on March 5-7, the extraordinary congrees was organized by Democratic Party members who oppose the leadership of Democratic Party Chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono.
 
"If they try to submit the results of the illegal extraordinary congress, the ministry must refuse it," said the Party's Legal Division Head Didik Mukrianto in a press release on Friday.

According to the Democratic Party official, the extraordinary congress is not in line with the party's constitution.
 
Moreover, police have also been urged to take firm action against the extraordinary congress because the event have not obtained the necesarry permits from the authorities.
 
"The illegal event should be canceled," Didik stated.
