Jakarta: Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin received a tough task from President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). He was asked to solve the covid-19 problem in the country.
"President asked me to be able to deal with the covid-19 problem as quickly as possible," said Budi at the State Palace, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, December 23, 2020.
Jokowi wants the corona virus to disappear immediately so that all students can return to school. In addition, so that micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) can reopen their businesses.
"So that all of our families can return to stay in touch, and all Indonesian people can live normally again," said Budi.
The former Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) has asked for support from various parties. Starting from doctors' associations, hospitals, to academics.
"This problem is a problem which is impossible for us to do alone, which we must do in an inclusive and cooperative manner," he said.
Budi was appointed Minister of Health replacing Terawan Agus Putranto. Although he does not have a background in the health sector, Jokowi believes that Budi can solve the covid-19 case.
