Bandung: A multiple vehicle collision occured at kilometer 91 of the Cipularang toll road in Purwakarta, West Java at around 01:00 PM Western Indonesia Time (WIB) on Monday, September 2, 2019.
"The collision killed at least six people and injured at least eight others," Purwakarta Police head Adjunct Senior Commissioner Matrius told Metro TV this afternoon.
According to him, police have evacuated the injured victims to the nearest hospitals. In addition, they are still removing the damaged vehicles from the crash site.
The injured victims are treated at Siloam Hospital, Bayu Asih Hospital and Thamrin Hospital in Purwakarta. Some of them suffer serious burn injuries.
"We are currently implementing contraflow system to manage the Jakarta-Bandung toll road," the Police official said.
