Jakarta: The NasDem Party has urged the Jakarta provincial to transform sports complexes into quarantine sites for asymptomatic covid-19 patients.
"We hope they could open large quarantine sites soon. They could use sports complexes," the head of NasDem Faction at the Jakarta Legislative Council, Wibi Andrino, told Medcom.id here on Thursday.
Wibi also urged the Jakarta provincial government to collaborate with private hospitals in Jakarta. He explained that the regional government could offer incentives to the private hospitals.
"The regional budget should be utilized. So they could receive covid-19 patients," he stated.
The Jakarta provincial government will reintroduce Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) on September 14. The policy aims to decrease the covid-19 hospitalization rate in Indonesia's capital.
The Jakarta provincial government previously implemented PSBB for around two months from April to June. The regional government changed its policy to transitional PSBB in early June.
