Jakarta: As many 320 inpatients at the Athelete's Village Covid-19 Emergency Hospital in Central Jakarta recovered from the disease today.

"A total of 14,535 inpatients have recovered,"  said the Joint Regional Defense Command I (Kogabwilhan I) spokesperson Marine Colonel Aris Mudian in a written statement on Thursday.

According to the spokesperson, the Athlete's Village Covid-19 Emergency Hospital currently treats 2,311 inpatients at towers 6 and 7.

Besides providing inpatient service, the Athletes Village Covid-19 Emergency Hospital also houses asymptomtic covid-19 patients. As many as 2,108 asymptomatic patients are currently undergoing self-isolation at towers 4 and 5. The two towers were opened by the government earlier this month.

In March, the central government decided to transform the Kemayoran Athletes Vilage into a covid-19 emergency hospital so covid-19 referral hospitals could focus on treating seriously ill patients.

Earlier this month, the Jakarta provincial government decided to reimpose Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) in Indonesia's capital. The policy aims to lower covid-19 hospitalization in the province. A wide range of restrictions were reintroduced to tackle the spread of the virus.
