Jakarta: The National Covid-19 Handling Task Force on Friday announced 4,823 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 266,845.
From Thursday noon to Friday noon, the total number of confirmed covid-19 recoveries was up by 4,343 to 196,196, while the total number of confirmed covid-19 deaths was up by 113 to 10,218.
Meanwhile, according to the Indonesian Ministry of Health, the central government has detected a total of 1,146 covid-19 clusters across Indonesia since the beginning of the pandemic.
"There are eight new covid-19 clusters in Central Java," said Special Staff of Indonesian Minister of Health Mariya Mubarika in a written statement here on Friday.
The eight clusters are an Islamic boarding school in Banyumas, Islamic boarding school in North Purwokerto, Islamic boarding school in Kendal, community in Salatiga, social event in Kulonprogo, Menara Wijaya Building in Sukoharjo, Soeradji Tirtonegoro Regional Public Hospital in Klaten, and Kaliwungu Public Health Center in Kendal.
In addition, to curb covid-19 family clusters, the Indonesian Government has also announced its commitment to massively campaign on 3M (wearing masks, washing hands, and maintaining distance) to families.
