5 Groups to Get Priority Access to Covid-19 Vaccine: Minister

Jakarta: Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto today revealed that the government will give five groups priority access to covid-19 vaccine.
 
According to the Covid-19 Handling and National Economic Recovery Committee Chairman, the first group consists of health workers, military personnel, law enforcement officers and civil servants. 6,996,474 doses will be needed to vaccinate 3,497.977 people in the first group.
 
Meanwhile, the second group consists of community leaders, including religious leaders and local leaders. 5,624,010 people have been included in the second group.

"The third group consists of education workers. There are around 4.3 million teachers," the Functional Groups (Golkar) Party Chairman stated.
 
Furthermore, the fourth group consists of government employees and lawmakers at the national and local levels. Around 4.6 million doses will be allocated to vaccinate 2.3 people in the fourth group.
 
Lastly, the fifth group consists of recipients of Healthcare and Social Security Agency (BPJS Kesehatan) schemes. The government will allocate 173 million doses to vaccinate 86 million people in the last group.
 
"We will vaccinate a total of 160 million people so we will need 320 million doses," he stated.
