Indonesia Focuses on Covid-19 Handling: President Jokowi

Jakarta: President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has said that the members of the Working Cabinet will continue to focus on covid-19 handling in the country.
 
"Good public health will create good economy. It means health is still our highest priority. Covid-19 handling is the key," President Jokowi said during a cabinet meeting here on Monday.
 
During the cabinet meeting, the president instructed the Covid-19 Handling and National Economic Recovery Committee, the Ministry of Health and law enforcement agencies to tackle the spread of covid-19 in the country. He is confident that the Indonesian economy will start to recover in the third quarter of 2020. He believes that economic stimulus can help boost economic activities in the country.

"If we restart the economy before we are able to control covid-19, it can be very dangerous," he stated.
 
On Monday, the Indonesian Ministry of Health announced 2,880 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 196,989.
 
From Sunday noon to Monday noon, the total number of confirmed covid-19 recoveries rose by 2,077 to 140,652. Meanwhile, the total number of confirmed covid-19 deaths increased by 205 to 8,130.
