Peak of Holiday Exodus Starts From December 21

Jakarta: Traffic Police (Korlantas) has mapped the flow of traffic during 2020 Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holidays. The peak of holiday exodus is predicted to take place Saturday, December 21, 2019, and Sunday, December 22, 2019.
 
"For the New Year holidays, the peak will tak place on 28, 29," said Chief of the Traffic Police Inspector General Istiono, at the National Police Headquarters on Thursday, December 12, 2019.
 
According to him, traffic police in various regions will be ready to assist travellers. They will coordinate with related parties to anticipate the density of traffic during the year-end holidays.

"Especially with the transportation department, PUPR (Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing) and state toll road operator Jasa Marga," he explained.
 
Meanwhile, House of Representatives Commission V wants the Christmas and New Year holidays to run in an orderly manner. The year-end holiday period is expected not to be tainted by accidents.
 
"We want zero accidents. It must be safe," said Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Commission V Syarif Abdullah Alkadrie on Tuesday, December 10, 2019.
 
The NasDem politician asked the government to prioritize the comfort of travelers. He stressed that the travelers must not be hindered by traffic jams.
