Siti Nurbaya Retains Her Position

Jakarta: NasDem politician Siti Nurbaya Bakar  is expected to continue her position as minister of environment and forestry.
 
Siti became the second minister allowed to announce her position to the public after Finance Minister Sri Mulyani.
 
"There are obligations for continuing assignments that have not been completed concerning key performance indicators," said Siti after meeting President Joko Widodo at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta on Tuesday, October 22, 2019.
 
Siti revealed that the focus of the second period will be on improving licensing procedures in her ministry. This includes formulating the concept of the omnibus law which includes capital, location, land, and the environment.
 
According to her, the Ministry of Environment and Forestry must increase support for investment without harming the preservation of nature. He cited reforestation, land rehabilitation and nature tourism as some of the examples.
 
"Reducing natural disasters and improving the environment and nature tourism," concluded Siti.
 
Siti was one of the figures summoned to the Presidential Palace today. Other Individuals who came were Sri Mulyani, South Sulawesi Governor Syahrul Yasin Limpo, Minister of Social Affairs Agus Gumiwang, and Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) politician Juliari Batubara.
 
A day earlier, President Jokowi also summoned 11 minister candidates, including Chairman of the Constitutional Court (MK) Mahfud MD, founder of Go-Jek Nadiem Makarim, Net TV Wishnutama Commissioner, owner of Mahaka Group Erick Thohir, and National Police Chief General Tito Karnavian.
 
There were also State Secretary Minister Pratikno, former President's Special Staff Nico Harjanto, Commissioner Adhi Karya Fadjroel Rachman, Great Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party Chairperson Prabowo Subianto, Gerindra Deputy Chairperson Edhy Prabowo, and Golkar Party chairman Airlangga Hartarto.
