Jakarta: Indonesian Medical Association (IDI) Chairman Daeng M Fiqih has encouraged people to always implement health protocols, such as wearing masks, washing hands and maintaining distance.
"It is the most effective solution to prevent covid-19," said the IDI leader during a virtual discussion here on Monday.
According to him, people must not believe hoaxes on social media platforms and must seek detailed information from reliable sources.
"Many people still believe hoaxes. This virus is real and dangerous. It really can cause many deaths," Daeng explained.
On Monday afternoon, the National Covid-19 Handling Task Force confirmed 3,267 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 336,716.
Based on data from the Indonesian Health Ministry, from Sunday noon to Monday noon, the total number of recovered covid-10 patients was up by 3,492 to 258,519.
Meanwhile, in the same period, the total number of confirmed covid-19 deaths rose by 91 to 11,935.
