Death Toll in Pagaralam's Bus Accident Rises to 25

Palembang: The death toll of Tuesday's bus accident in Liku Lematang, Pagaralam, Sumatra Selatan has risen to 25, according to local authorities.
 
"According to reports, 25 passengers died, 14 passengers survived," Palembang SAR Agency Berty D Y Kowaas told Breaking News Metro TV on Tuesday, December 24, 2019.
 
The official said that all victims were evacuated to Basemah Regional Public Hospital in Pagaralam. He added that the bus driver was killed in the accident.

"The rescue team are still carrying out the SAR operation," Berty added.
 
A passenger bus with the route Palembang-Bengkulu fell off a cliff in Liku Lematang Indah. The bus reportedly carried at least 39 passengers.
 
The accident occured at around 00.30 AM Western Indonesia Time (WIB). As many as seven dead victims have been identified by the police. 
 
"Basarnas, the Police, the Military, BPBD has started a joint operation," he stated.
