Jakarta: A magnitude 5.4 earthquake shook Buru in Maluku Province on Thursday at 09.42 Western Indonesia Time (WIB).
According to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the earthquake did not trigger any tsunami warnings.
With a depth of 11 kilometers, the epicenter was located 90 kilometers northeast of Buru.
"Be careful of potential aftershocks," the government agency stated.
There were no immediate reports of damages and casualties due to the earthquake.
