Jakarta: The Ministry of Agriculture has supported covid-19 vaccinations for farmers to help create herd immunity.
This is in line with the Indonesian government’s vaccination target for this year.
"Mister President had hoped for farmers’ vaccination since several months ago. I told him that I would identify who are eligible first because we need to be very careful. Alhamdullilah we can do it now," said Vice Minister of Agriculture Harvick Hasnul Qolbi in his official statement on Thursday.
Harvick hoped that mass vaccination events can be held in several regions.
"So we will do it massively," said Harvick.
Previously, a covid-19 vaccination event was held in Aceh that was a collaborative work between The Ministry of Agriculture, Aceh Police, Aceh Police Medical and Health Division, and Indonesian Farmers Union (HKTI).
Moreover, Harvick urged young farmers to maintain relations with the Ministry so that their innovation during the pandemic won' t wither before it could develop.
