Covid-19 Vaccine Must be Safe, Effective: Jokowi

Jakarta: President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has reiterated that covid-19 vaccine that will be used in Indonesia must be effective and safe.
 
"Both procurement and vaccination must consider safety and efficacy. We must not launch the vaccination program hastily and ignore health and safety standards. That is prohibited," said the president at the State Palace, the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta on Monday.
 
The former Jakarta governor explained that the implementation stage is a critical point and it must also be explained to the public.

He also reminded the importance of technical preparation for the vaccination program, including training for the officers involved.
 
On Monday, the National Covid-19 Handling Task Force confirmed 3,222 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 392.934.
 
From Sunday noon to Monday noon, the total number of recovered covid-19 patients across Indonesia was up by 3,908 to 317,672, while the country's official covid-19 death toll rose by 94 to 13,299.
 
Thus, the number of active covid-19 cases in the country currently is 61,851.
