Indonesia to Launch Covid-19 Vaccination Program in November 2020

Jakarta: Minister of Health Terawan Agus Putranto has confirmed that the Central Government will launch a covid-19 vaccination program in November 2020.
According to the minister, he and other Indonesian high-ranking officials visited China last week to finalize the procurement of covid-19 vaccines.
"In the early stage, health workers, civil servants, military personnel and law enforcement officers will be given priority," said the minister in a written statement on Monday.

According to reports, the Indonesian Government have agreed to procure covid-19 vaccines from three companies, namely Sinovac, G42/Sinopharm, and Sinovac.
This week, Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi, State-Owned Enterpries (SOEs) Minister Erick Thohir and Health Ministry officials will visit the United Kingdom (UK) and Switzerland to explore covid-19 vaccine opportunities.
Besides meeting with officials from the UK and Switzerland, the Indonesian delegation will also hold a discussion with World Health Organization (WHO), Gavi and the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) to talk about the COVAX initiative.
