5.8 Magnitude Quake Shakes Mentawai Islands, No Tsunami Threat

Jakarta: A 5.8 magnitude earthquake rocked Mentawai Islands in West Sumatra Province at 14.32 Western Indonesia Time (WIB) on Friday.
 
According to the Meteorology, Climatology, Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the earthquake did not trigger tsunami warnings.
 
With a depth of 24 kilometers, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 54 kilometers northwest of Mentawai Islands.

There are no reports of damage and casualties yet.
