Jakarta: Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka University (Uhamka) routinely holds discussions the form of seminars with students by choosing several current themes.

This program continues to be developed by Uhamka to channel students' aspirations while also preventing radical ideas from entering the campus.

"They can hold discussions," Uhamka's Vice Rector, Lelly Qodariah, told Medcom.id on Monday, October 7, 2019.

Uhamka often make international seminars hosting several representatives from Islamic countries. These representatives provide advice to students regarding the dangers of radicalism.

She believes this strategy is the most effective way to eliminate radicalism. She is confident the mindset of her students can be enlightened with a variety of information conveyed through these seminars.

"For me, radicalism is based on a mindset and we wish to inform them so that they can change that mindset," said Lelly.

Lelly said, radicalism often brainwashes young people through the information they absorb. For this reason, according to her, students need to be guided to be able to sort out the information they absorb.
