Jakarta: The covid-19 emergency hospital at the Kemayoran Athletes Village in Central Jakarta are currently treating 2,757 covid-19 patients. The patients comprise 1,334 males and 1,423 females.
"All of them are confirmed covid-19 patients," the Joint Regional Defense Command (Kogabwilhan) I spokesperson Marine Colonel Aris Mudian said here on Thursday.
The number of covid-19 patients at the covid-19 emergency hospital increased by 1,691 today. Tower 4 and Tower 5 at the Kemayoran Athletes Village were recently opened to house asymptomatic covid-19 patients.
The Jakarta provincial government started to reimpose Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) on Monday. The policy aims to lower the covid-19 hospitalization rate in Indonesia's capital.
Jakarta Special Capiral Region previously implemented PSBB measures for around two months from April until June. The city then changed its policy into Transitional PSBB in early June.
According to Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, PSBB will be implemented for two weeks. However, it could be extended if necessary.
