74 Restaurants in Jakarta Shut Down for Violating Covid-19 Restrictions

Siti Yona Hukmana • 22 September 2020 14:55
Jakarta: Local authorities temporarily shut down as many as 74 restaurants in Jakarta Special Capital Region for violationg health protocols.

"74 restaurants were temporarily closed down," Jakarta Metro Police spokesperson Senior Commissioner Yusri Yunus said here on Tuesday.

The move was based on Governor's Regulation Number 88 Year 2020 on Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB). The 74 restaurants were closed down from September 14 to September 20.

"We also temporarily shut down one office building in the past week," the official stated.

The Jakarta provincial government officially started to reimpose PSBB last week. The policy aims to lower the covid-19 hospitalization rate in Indonesia's capital.

The province previously implemented PSBB measures for around two months from April until June. The region then changed its policy into Transitional PSBB in early June.
