Bandung: Incessant heavy rains on Sunday, February 16, 2020 triggered the Citarum River to overflow its bank and caused floods and landslides in Bandung and West Bandung in West Java Province.
The three areas of Baleendah, Dayeuhkolot, and Bojongsoang in Bandung Regency bore the brunt of the natural disasters, according to information from the local disaster mitigation office (BPBD) here on Monday, February 17, 2020.
Spokesman of the Bandung BPBD Enjang Wahyudin stated that floodwaters reached a height of up to 1.5 meters in Dayeuhkolot and affected tens of thousands of local villagers.

In Bandung Regency, landslides hit Padasuka Village, Cimenyan, and Cipelah Village, Rancabali, while an embankment burst in Panyadap Village, Solokan Jeruk, and affected some 400 households.
No fatalities were reported in the natural disasters.
In the meantime, in West Bandung Regency, landslides and flash flood hit Jayamekar Village, Padalarang, damaging several homes and a school building, according to West Bandung BPBD Head Duddy Prabowo. Flash floods submerged houses in Campakamekar and Padalarang villages in Padalarang. In Saguling, a landslide cut off road access to several residential areas. (Antara)
