Pekanbaru: As many as 222 covid-19 patients in Pekanbaru Province recovered from the disease on Sunday, according to the Riau Health Agency
Based on data from the Riau provincial government, authorities also registered 164 new covid-19 cases and six confirmed covid-19 deaths on Sunday.
"As of today, we have logged 8,405 covid-19 cases, 4,977 covid-19 recoveries and 182 covid-19 deaaths," Riau Heath Agency Head Mimi Yuliani Nazir said here on Monday.
"2,215 people are currently undergoing self-isolation, while 1,030 people are being treated," the local official explained.
To tackle the spread of coronavirus, Riau people have been urged to stricly implement health protocols, including wearing masks, washing hands and maintaining distance.
"If you have to go outside, you must wear masks, continuously maintain your distance, and regularly wash your hands," she stated.
On Sunday, the National Covid-19 Handling Task Force confirmed 3,992 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases to 303,498.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the total number of confirmed covid-19 recoveries has reached 228,453, while the total number of confirmed covid-19 deaths has reached 11,151. (Rudi Kurniawansyah)
