Landslide in South Sulawesi's Bulukumba Kills 4 People

Jakarta: At least four peole were killed after a landslide occurred in Bulukumba Regency, South Sulawesi Province on Sunday, April 19, 2020.
 
"Four people died and one person survived," the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) spokesperson Agus Wibowo said in a press statement on Monday, April 20, 2020.
 
Accordig to the Bulukumba Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency, the landslide occurred at 10:00 local time. It was triggered by unstable soil structures.

After receiving information about the disaster, the local rapid response team immediatly carried out an evacuation operation. It was conducted jointly by relevat agencies.
 
"They conducted rapid assessments and coordinated with relevant agencies," he stated.
 
The victims were taken to the regional public hospital. Some of the victims were farmers who were looking for fertilizer materials.
