Jakarta: The National Covid-19 Handling Task Force today confirmed 4,071 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 252,923.
Based on data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, the total number of confirmed covid-19 recoveries increased by 3,501 to 184,298 from Monday noon to Tuesday noon.
Meanwhile, the covid-19 death toll rose by 160 to 9,837 in the past 24 hours.
To implement his directives in dealing with covid-19 in nine priority provinces, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has formed the Covid-19 Task Force or TFC-19.
The goal is to reduce the number of cases, reduce mortality and increase recovery rates, improve community discipline, synchronize central and regional data, encourage an increase in the number of ICUs and isolation rooms, increase medical personnel and distribute PPEs and medicines.
The nine provinces are Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, North Sumatra, South Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, Papua and Bali.
