Jakarta: The National Covid-19 Handling Task Force today announced that Tower 4 of the Kemayoran Athletes Village currently accommodates as many as 527 asymptomatic covid-19 patients.
"Tower 4 currently accommodates 527 people or 34.08 percent of the capacity," said the task force in a written statement on Wednesday.
"Tower 5 currently accommodates 1,445 people or 92.03 percent of the capacity," it stated.
In March, the task force transformed the Kemayoran Athletes Village into a covid-19 emergency hospital. At first, the task force opened towers 6 and 7 to provide inpatient services for patients with mild to moderate cases. Earlier this month, the task force opened towers 4 and 5 to house asymptomatic patients.
On Tuesday afternoon, the National Covid-19 Handling Task Force confirmed 4,071 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 252,923.
Based on data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, from Monday noon to Tuesday noon, the total number of confirmed covid-19 recoveries increased by 3,501 to 184,298.
Meanwhile, in the past 24 hours, the covid-19 death toll rose by 160 to 9,837.
