Jakarta: The Governor of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Viktor Bungtilu Laiskodat asked all NasDem party politicians in Indonesia to fight radicalism. One way is by spreading the Pancasila mindset to the public.

"Pancasila must be put forward as an ideology and mindset, it must be ensured to be applied in everyday life," Viktor said when attending NasDem’s Congress II and 8th Anniversary at JI-Expo, Central Jakarta on Sunday, November 10, 2019.

Viktor said the Pancasila ideology was a benchmark for all citizens. By prioritizing the ideology, it will make people love Indonesia and what it stands for.

"All the children of a NasDem Party politician must understand the Pancasila," Viktor said.

In addition, Viktor said NasDem politicians who have positions in the regional government must be able to strengthen the love of Pancasila for the community. Because he continued, state officials are set as an example of society.

"Governors, Regents, Presidents, members of the House of Representatives DPR, political party members must all continue to prioritize the Pancasila as an ideology, belief, and philosophy of the nation," Viktor said.

The politicians and state officials from the NasDem party were asked to open talks in public regarding the topic. This can possibly maintain Indonesia’s diverse culture and the Pancasila ideology.

"Do not ever have discriminatory thoughts regarding ethnicity, religion, skin color and others, thoughts like these can be damaging," he concluded.
