Jakarta: Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri has said that KPK personnel should not hesitate to take actions, including conducting sting operations.
"I also order all KPK personnel to never hesitate to take firm actions to enforce law against perpetrators of corruption, including arrests," said Firli at the KPK's Red and White Building, South Jakarta, Tuesday, December 27, 2022.
Nevertheless, these actions must be in accordance with existing regulations. Firli believes KPK's tasks in the future will be even more difficult.
He emphasized that the Indonesian anti-corruption agency would not discriminate. KPK officials should not be influenced by any outside power.
"KPK is not subject to anyone," said Firli.
The KPK has investigated thousands of cases since 2004. Until now, KPK has conducted 1,507 pre-investigations, 1,350 investigations and 1,350 prosecutions.
