Jakarta: The Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Office has said that all shopping malls in Indonesia's capital will be closed during during the upcoming Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) period.
"Restaurans inside the shopping malls will still be allowed to open but they will only be permitted to run takeaway and delivery services," Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Office head Gumilar Ekalaya said here on Thursday.
He added that supermarkets will aslo be allowed to open. He explained that the Jakarta provincial government will issue a new regulaton soon.
"We are still waiting for the Governor's Regulation (Pergub)," he stated.
The Jakarta provincial government will reintroduce PSBB measures on September 14. The policy aims to decrease the covid-19 hospitalization rate in Indonesia's capital.
The Jakarta provincial government previously implemented PSBB for around two months from April to June. The regional government changed its policy to transitional PSBB in early June.
