Bandung: As many as 209 residents have been displaced by floods that have inundated five areas in Bandung Regency, West Java on Tuesday night, December 17, 2019. Residents are now living temporarily in two locations.
"The refugees up to 11.30 Western Indonesia Time (WIB) has totaled 59 families consisting of 209 people," said Head of the West Java Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency Operations Center, Budi Budiman Wahyu on Wednesday, 18 December 2019.
Budi said that flood victims were placed in two points. 34 families or 122 people are at the Hall of Dayeuhkolot Village. The remaining 87 people are at the Lower Balekan Inkanas Post.
"In Baleendah there are 16 elderly people, six toddlers, three nursing mothers. While in Dayeuhkolot there are 16 elderly people, eight toddlers, one baby, and two nursing mothers," Budi said.
Meanwhile, the water level on Andir-Katapang Street reached 160 centimeters. It crippled transportation access around Baleendah area.
"Bandung Regency BPBD have gone to the location of the flooding with a rubber boat unit for the evacuation of trapped residents," he concluded.
