Jakarta: Chief of the Presidential Staff Moeldoko made it clear that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was the sole person to have information about a cabinet reshuffle.
Moeldoko made the statement in response to a press question pertaining to a rumor on a cabinet reshuffle.
"Only the president knows. The answer is just one concerning the reshuffle that only the president knows, period," he informed the press after a field visit to the campus of the Indonesian International Islamic University (UIII) in Depok, West Java, on Tuesday.
The matter of reshuffling the cabinet surfaced after a discourse to merge the Ministry of Education and Culture with the Ministry of Research and Technology.
Another discourse emerged on establishing the Ministry of Investment as a new structure in Jokowi's cabinet line-up.
It is believed that a likely merger of ministries and the appointment of a new minister would change the composition of the existing cabinet, thereby triggering a reshuffle.
