Bengkulu: A magnitude 5.6 earthquake rocked Enggano region in Bengkulu Province on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at around 13.01 Western Indonesia Time (WIB).
Based on a report from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the earthquake did not trigger any tsunami warnings.
With a depth of around 10 kilometers (km), the epicenter of the earthquake was located 190 kilometers northwest of Enggano.
Located in the Pacific Ring of Fire, Indonesia is prone to natural disasters such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and tsunami waves.
