Yogyakarta Urged to Implement Micro-Scale Social Restrictions

Yogyakarta: Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko has encouraged the Yogyakarta provincial government to implement Micro-Scale Social Restrictions in the region.
 
According to the former National Armed Forces (TNI) commander, the measures are needed to tackle the spread of covid-19 at a community level.
 
"We need to focus on combating covid-19 at a community level," Moeldoko said here on Friday.

The Indonesian Government has announced that the implementation of micro-scale social restrictions in West Java province has brought positive impact to curb covid-19 virus transmission.
 
For that matter, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has ordered the regional governments to implement social restrictions in a smaller scale instead or only in areas where most coronavirus cases are identified
 
For the record, some regions in the country are implementing large scale social restrictions at a regency or a city level.
 
On Thursday afternoon, the National Covid-19 Handling Task Force confirmed 4,174 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 29,182.
 
Based on data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, from Wednesday noon to Thursday noon, the total number of confirmed covid-19 recoveries across Indonesia was up by 3,540 to 218,487.
 
Meanwhile, in the same period, the total number of confirmed covid-19 deaths in the country was up by 116 to 10,856.
