Jakarta: The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has conducted sting operations in North Penajam Paser Regency and Jakarta Province.
North Penajam Paser Regent Abdul Gafur Mas'ud was arrested during a sting operation in Jakarta Province on Wednesday.
"KPK has arrested one of the regents from East Kalimantan namely North Penajam Paser Regent (Abdul Gafur Mas'ud)," said KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri in a written statement on Thursday.
According to Firli, the North Penajam Paser Regent and 10 other people are currently being interrogated by KPK investigators.
"Thank you for your support so that KPK can continue to eradicate corruption," said Firli.
The anti-corruption agency has 1x24 hours to determine the status of the North Penajam Paser leader.
