Jakarta: The Athletes Village Emergency Hospital at the Kemayoran Athletes Village in Central Jakarta currently accommodates 3,400 covid-19 patients, according to the Joint Regional Defense Command I (Kogabwilhan I) spokesperson Marine Colonel Aris Mudian.
"The number of covid-19 patients at towers 6 and 7 decreased by 69 to 1,691," said the spokesman in a press release on Tuesday.
"Meanwhile, the number of covid-19 patients at towers 4 and 5 increased by 57 to 1,709," the spokesman added.
Operated by the central government, towers 6 and 7 at the Kemayoran Athletes Village are used to treat covid-19 patients with mild to moderate symptoms, while towers 4 and 5 at the building complex are used to house asymptomatic covid-19 patients.
On Monday, The National Covid-19 Handling Task Force confirmed 3,622 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 307,120.
Based on data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, from Sunday noon to Monday noon, the total number of recovered covid-19 patients across Indonesia was up by 4,140 to 232,593.
Meanwhile, in the same period, the official covid-19 death toll in the country rose by 102 to 11,253.
