Jakarta: A magnitude 5.7 earthquake hit Southwest Maluku Regency at 14.07 Western Indonesia Time (WIB) on Monday, according to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).
"There is no tsunami risk," said the BMKG in a statement on Monday afternoon.
With a depth of 20 kilometers, the epicenter of the earthquake is located 23 kilometeres northeast of Southwest Maluku Regency.
According to the government agency, the earthquake was felt in the regions of Moa, Damer and Tiakur.
