Jakarta: The distribution of the third dose of covid-19 vaccine for health workers and health support personnel continues to increase. More than 600 thousand health workers have received booster vaccines.
"The third dose of vaccination for health workers is 41.13 percent or 604,104 people," said a statement on the vaccine.kemkes.go.id page, quoted Monday, August 30, 2021.
The total target of vaccination for this group is 1,468,764 peoples. Vaccines are given to health workers who have received the first and second doses.
Booster vaccines for health workers are regulated in the Circular Letter of the Director General of Disease Prevention and Control Number: HK.02.01/1/1919/2021. The government does not allow groups outside of health workers to be injected with the third dose of vaccine.
The third dose of vaccine for health workers uses the Moderna. In response, Moderna has a higher efficacy than currently vaccine available.
Inoculating this booster vaccine will still observe the health conditions of the recipients. If any allergies occurs because of this mRNA platform vaccine, Health Ministry suggest that recipients use other than Moderna vaccine.
Moderna vaccine used as a booster is mRNA-1273. The injection is done intramuscularly with a dose of 0.5 ml in 1 dose.
