Floods Inundate Several Areas in Central Kalimantan's North Barito

Muara Teweh: Several low-lying areas in Muara Teweh, the capital of North Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan Province, again got flooded after the Barito River overflowed its banks following unremitting torrential rains.
 
Floodwaters, reaching a height of up to 50 centimeters, inundated several residential areas and roads, including the Panglima Batur Street, Merak Street, Dahlia Street, Imam Bonjol Street, and Cempaka Putih Street, Adi, a local resident, stated here on Wednesday, April 29, 2020.
 
Several villages in Lahei, Teweh Baru, South Teweh, and Montallat were also hit by flooding.

"Right now, floods are submerging the road of our residential area in Jambu Village, Teweh Baru," Igang, a resident of Jambu Village, Teweh Baru, stated.
 
Floodwaters, reaching a height of between 50 centimeters to a meter, submerged Jambu Village.
 
"Floods began to inundate these areas since Tuesday afternoon, and to this day, the water continues to rise slowly. Today, residents have begun moving their belongings to a safer place," he added. (antara)
