Lebak: An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 shook Waropen Regency, Papua Province on Wednesday afternoon at around 15.50 Western Indonesia Time (WIB).
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) stated that the earthquake did not trigger any tsunamy warnings.
With a depth of 64 kilometers, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 34 kilometers southeast of Waropen.
Located in the Pacific Ring of Fire, Indonesia is prone to natural disasters such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and tsunami waves.
