Jakarta: As many as 104 Jakarta residents currently stay at five evacuation posts as floods inundate several areas in Jakarta Capital Special Region.
According to the Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency of Jakarta Capital Special Region (BPBD DKI), 63 neighborhood units are still inundated by flood water. Meanwhile, the five evacuation posts are located in South Jakarta and West Jakarta.
"The number of evacuees is 104," BPBD DKI's Disaster Data and Information Center Head M Insyah said here on Tuesday.
According to weather and season forecasts from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the dry season in most parts of Indonesia can still last until October, especially in most parts of Java Island.
Meanwhile, the rainy season in Indonesia will start gradually at the end of October, especially in the western part of Indonesia.
To prevent floods during rainy season, the Jakarta provincial government has prepared several measures, namely conducting dredging activities, constructing infiltration wells, and deploying blue team personnel.
