Jakarta: The members of the Commission VIII of the House of Representatives (DPR) took swab tests after Minister of Religious Affairs Fachrul Razi contracted covid-19.
"It is part of contact tracing efforts," Commission VIII deputy chairman Ace Hasan Syadzily said here on Monday.
On September 14, Commission VIII members held a meeting with the retired Army general. Few days later, Fachrul tested positive for coronavirus.
According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Fachrul is in good physical condition. To prevent the spread of the virus, the minister is currently placed in isolation.
"The minister should focus on his health," Ace said.
The Indonesian government is currently focusing on flattening the covid-19 infection curve in nine provinces with the highest transmission rates, namely Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, North Sumatra, South Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, Papua, and Bali.
