Depok: Research, Technology, and Higher Education Minister Mohamad Nasir inaugurated the University of Indonesia (UI) Hospital located in the UI complex, Depok, West Java on Wednesday, February 13, 2019.
"I hope the UI Hospital would offer not only local or national services but also global," Nasir stated.
Nasir emphasized that the new hospital should follow international standard and win the world's recognition. He added that Indonesia currently has 24 educational hospitals of which 12 have been fully
operational.
Nasir was accompanied by UI Rector Prof. Muhammad Anis. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia Ishii Masafumi, RSUI Director Dr Julianto Witjaksono, and member of the RSUI Supervisory Board Theodorus M. Tuanakotta.
RSUI is the first educational hospital to follow the concept of one-stop health services, from primary, secondary, and excellent services. The hospital is built on a plot of land measuring 106,100 square meters, and its 14-floor building measures 82,074 square meters.
The hospital has a capacity of 300 beds in the first stage and is expected to increase to 900 beds in future. The building, with 250 rooms, is an earthquake-resistant structure.
