President Jokowi Receives Credentials of 4 Foreign Ambassadors

Jakarta: President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) received credentials from four ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary (LBBP). The handover of the credentials was held in the Credential Room, Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Wednesday, September 1, 2021.
 
The procession for the handover of credentials began with listening to the national anthems of each country after the ambassadors arrived at the Merdeka Palace. The event was carried out by implementing health protocols, such as maintaining distance and wearing masks.
 
The four ambassadors received by the President were the Ambassador of the Republic of Ecuador to the Republic of Indonesia, Santiago Javier Chávez Pareja, and the Ambassador of the Commonwealth of Australia to the Republic of Indonesia, Nikki Penelope Williams PSM.

Then, the Ambassador of the Republic of Ireland to the Republic of Indonesia, Pádraig Francis, and the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to the Republic of Indonesia, Houssein Sidi Abdellah DEH.
 
The handover of the credentials marked the start of the ambassador's official assignment in Indonesia. All ambassadors will be based in Jakarta.
 
After handing over the credentials to the President, the ambassadors and their companions said goodbye. The National Anthem of Indonesia Raya was also played on the occasion.
