Jakarta: Indonesian pair Greysia Polii/Apriyani Rahayu grabbed an olympic gold medal in the badminton women's double after beating China's Chen Qing Chen/Jia Yi Fan in two sets 21-19, 21-15.
The pair managed to win the fourth medal for the Indonesian contingent at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Since the beginning of the Tokyo Olympics, Indonesia has collected one gold medal, one silver medal and two bronze medals.
Previously, two young weightlifters Windy Cantika and Rahmat Erwin Abdullah won the bronze medal in the women’s 49 kilogram class and the men’s 73 kilograms category, respectively.
Meanwhile, senior weighlifter Eko Yuli Irawan won the silver medal in the men’s 61 kilogram class.
Later today, Indonesian badminton player Antony Sinisuka Ginting will face Kevin Cordon of Guatemala in the bronze medal match.
