West Bandung: President Joko Widodo revealed that the Jakarta Surabaya High Speed Train project is currently in the study stage. He targets the development study to be completed in the near future.
"Perhaps the initiator's study of the high speed train from Bandung to Surabaya will be completed within the next two weeks," said the President at the Jakarta Bandung High Speed Train Station (KCJB) Padalarang, West Bandung, West Java, Monday, October 3 2023.
The President explained that the next stage would be further internal studies. Then, the government will carry out calculations from the study results.
"After that, a new calculation will be decided," he explained.
The fast train project will continue to Surabaya, East Java. This project will pass through Solo, Central Java.
This is claimed to be President Jokowi's order. He wants fast trains to also pass through Solo, which is known as his hometown.
"The President ordered us to make a study regarding the continuation of the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train to Surabaya, later via Kertajati, via Jogja, Solo and Surabaya," said Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, at JCC Senayan, Friday, 29 September 2023.
