Jakarta: The Indonesian Air Force (AU) has an ambition to attain the realization of an increase in their minimum essential force (MEF). This year became a crucial point as the beginning of the fourth strategic plan of the long-term development plan (RPJP) 2005-2024.
"The achievements of the Indonesian Air Force from the MEF are only 45 percent and we must accelerate this," Air Force Chief of Staff (KSAU) Air Marshal Yuyu Sutisna told a meeting of the Air Force leadership (rapim) of the Indonesian Air Force, in Jakarta on Thursday, January 30, 2020.
According to him, the Indonesian Air Force focused on procuring the construction of the air defense system in 2020. To be able to realize the plan, Yuyu would coordinate with various parties, including the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto.
"We equate the perceptions of all leaders in the Indonesian Air Force Headquarters at the assistant level, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, commander, governor to the lowest unit, we are determined to accelerate so that the achievement in the fourth strategic plan can be achieved," he said.
Yuyu hopes that by the end of 2020 his side will be able to catch up with the MEF achievements. He said there were indeed problems, both due to procurement, regulations from the selling country, and so on.
"And we have anticipated all of this so that we will immediately resolve the issue starting this year," said Yuyu.
