Jakarta: A North Maluku Police officer named Nesti Ode Samily was recently nabbed by the National Police Special Detachment 88 Anti-Terror (Densus 88). She was allegedly involved in a terror network.
"She was influenced by radical ideas," National Police spokesperson Senior Commissioner Asep Adi Saputra said here on Thursday, October 3, 2019.
Nesti is currently being probed by Densus 88 investigators. Densus 88 wants to examine her radicalisation process.
The spokesman revealed that Nesti will be brought to the Ethics Committee. He stated that the policewoman will be fired from her job.
In May, Nesti was caught by police for the first time. She tried to desert the force. She was then handed over to the North Maluku police.
Last month, Nesti tried to desert the force for the second time. She was nabbed by Densus 88 in Salatiga, Central Java. Police earlier named Nesti in their wanted list.
