Jakarta: The Presidential Palace regrets the leak of personal data belonging to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). The President's spokesman, Fadjroel Rahman, asked for special steps to ensure the confidentiality of personal data.

"I regret that the personal data was circulated. We hope that the relevant parties will immediately take special steps to prevent a similar incident," said Fadjroel in a written statement, Friday, September 3, 2021.

Fadjroel asked that this special step could also secure the public's data. He did not want ministries or agencies to only protect data belonging to the Head of State.

This includes protecting public data," he said.

Previously, a netizen uploaded a photo showing President Jokowi's covid-19 vaccination certificate on Twitter. The vaccination certificate can be seen publicly through PeduliLindungi.

From his upload, Jokowi's full identity is clearly displayed, starting from his name, date of birth, to the population identification number (NIK). Two-dimensional barcodes or quick response codes (QR codes) are also displayed without being censored by the uploader.

In addition, there is information that Jokowi has undergone a second dose of covid-19 vaccination on January 27, 2021.

The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) immediately responded to the data leak. The Ministry of Health has closed access to the NIK data of several state officials in the PeduliLindungi application, including the President.
