516 Cafes, Restaurants in Jakarta Closed Down for Violating Restrictions

Jakarta: Jakarta authorities have closed down 516 cafes and restaurants for violating covid-19 protocols, according to the Jakarta Public Order Argency (Satpol PP) Head Arifin.
 
"A total of 516 restaurants and cafes have been closed down," the Jakarta official said here on Wednesday.
 
In addition, 55 restaurants have been fined and 162 businesses have been given written warnings. To tackle the spread of covid-19, the Jakarta provincial government decided to reimpose Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) in mid-September.

Jakarta Special Capital Region is still the epicenter of covid-19 crisis in Indonesia. The Jakarta Health Agency registered more than one thousand new covid-19 cases on Tuesday.
 
From Monday noon to Tuesday nooon, the total number of confirmed cases in Indonesia's capital rose by 1,007 to 81,043. However, the number of active cases in the province decreased by 47 to 12,922.
 
"The death toll increased by 34 to 1,806," said the Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Control and Prevention Division Head Dwi Oktavia in a written statement on Tuesday evening.
