Indonesia Announces 3,269 New Covid-19 Cases, 2,126 Recoveries

Jakarta: The Indonesian Ministry of Health today confirmed 3,269 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases across the country to 187,537.
 
From Thursday noon to Friday noon, the total number of confirmed covid-19 recoveries in Indonesia rose by 2,126 to 134,181. Meanwhile, the total number of confirmed covid-19 deaths in the country increased by 82 to 7,832.
 
On Thursday, Indonesian Minister Of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Erick Thohir held a meeting with the representatives of the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI) and the Indonesian National Nurses Association (PPNI).

According to the minister, Health workers will be prioritized for vaccination when covid-19 vaccine is ready early next year.
 
In addition, 1.5 million health workers, including doctors, nurses, and midwives, some of whom work for the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri), are ready to support the vaccination scheduled for early 2021.
 
According to erick, who also helms the Committee for Covid-19 Handling and National Economic Recovery, the IDI and the PPNI will determine the criteria and qualifications of doctors, nurses, and midwives who will be listed in the first batch of vaccination.
